Gauri Purohit brings over 15 years of fashion industry and teaching experience as an Associate Professor at Pearl Academy. She's currently pursuing a PhD in Geographical Indications in Crafts from IIS University.
Her credentials include a post-graduate diploma in Strategic Design Management from NID and a Bachelor's in Knitwear Design from NIFT Mumbai. She also attended a summer program on Intellectual Property Rights at Franklin Pierce Law Centre in the US.
Gauri started out as a knitwear designer with major brands like Raymonds and Arvind Mills before transitioning into fashion academics. She's taught across institutes for over eight years. Gauri serves on the BOS at KIIT Bhubaneswar and has been a visiting faculty at NIFT Jodhpur and NID Kurukshetra.
She consults on intellectual property and design issues with various organizations and conducts seminars for MSME, DST, polytechnics and more.
With her industry experience and research on topics like IP rights and design thinking, Gauri is committed to imparting the insights and knowledge today's fashion students need to stand out in a dynamic global industry.
