15th CONVOCATION CEREMONY

Pearl Academy of Fashion, Delhi organized Convocation ’07 ceremony on 13th September. The Honours were done by Jairam Ramesh, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Deepak Seth, Chairman and AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion. The degrees and professional diplomas were conferred to the students graduating from PAF’s several courses.On the occasion of 15th Convocation as many as 148 students from Delhi and Jaipur graduated from Pearl Academy.Students from the following courses conferred the degrees:-

PG Diploma in Apparel Management Programme (AMP)

Fashion Retail (FR)

PG Diploma in Fashion Design Indian Wear

BA(H) Degree in Textile Design (TD)

Communication Design; and

UG Diploma in Fashion and Media Make – up.

Addressing the event Jairam ramesh said, that the students graduating from the institute have ample job opportunities to look forward to. ‘Textile and Apparel’ industry has been engines of growth in most of economies of world. It has lot to offer to the developing countries particularly India where it has played important role in exports, generation of employment, and strengthening the rural agricultural base . the Pearl Academy of Fashion has been instrumental in taking Indian Fashion industry to the Global stage and is contributing substantially to the development of the Indian Economy. I wish all students a successful future”. Congratulating the graduates, Chairman, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Deepak Seth said, “I congratulate students who graduate this year and have already taken place in textile and clothing industry. I also congratulate all those proud parents who have guided their children’s towards a bright career in Textile and Apparel Sector.”

The degrees and diploma’s that you have conferred with confirm your status as professionals. You are not only required to see to it that Indian Fashion Industry grows but also to protect the integrity, distinctive character and rich heritage of the textiles and crafts of our country. Our skills need a facelift by using new designs, ideas, branding and technology support. You have a wonderful opportunity to use your knowledge and creativity to breathe new life into our craft sector”.

AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion , announced that the academy’s residential campus at Jaipur is under construction and will be ready by December,2007. The promoters of our Educational society under the chairmanship of Deepak Seth have donated 5 acres of land in Faridabad near Delhi and 3 acres in Chennai to develop full fledged campuses for PAF by 2008.We are actively working to expand into Mumbai and Kolkata by 2009”.
