A Three Day Seminar on ‘Faculty Development Training Programme in Design and Merchandising’

Pearl Academy of Fashion, Chennai recently organised a three day seminar on Faculty Development Training Programme in Design and Merchandising’.

Designed as a Refresher course, the programme was aimed at faculty members of fashion designing, costume designing and fashion merchandising from various institutions and colleges across the country. As many as 12 academies enrolled for the course.

The programme gave an insight on the contemporary practices used in the industry, teaching aids and training methods. Highlighting that institution offering fashion and its related programmes are being challenged with limited resources, the workshop encouraged the faculty members to update their knowledge on the latest trends in the market.

Emphasis was also made on recent developments and trends in fashion, to enable and empower the faculty for curriculum development and delivery of knowledge through classroom lectures and project works. Some of the important point studied included Fashion illustration, fashion and textiles CAD, retail basics and trends, recent innovation in manufacturing and quality, international fashion business and supply chain.
