Ambika Magotra, graduate from NID, Ahmedabad, is Professor and Course Leader of PG Diploma in Fashion Design at Pearl Academy New Delhi. She teaches fashion design process, fashion art and culture and trendspotting in visual culture. She has been a faculty at NIFT Mumbai for two years. Her entry during WOW 2008 was selected among the best from India and showcased in New Zealand. Her works have been exhibited in Samanvaya, an art exhibition by the faculty of Pearl Academy. Her design went into production for uniforms worn by Bureau of Immigration India ground staff. Her research paper on ‘Whimsical and Pop Indie’ was awarded as the best paper at IFFTI’13, an international conference, and she also presented her paper on The Power of ‘Aam Admi’ (the Common Man).
