Pearl Academy of Fashion hosts SAMANVAYA
~a 6-day art exhibition by fine arts faculty opens on June 09, 2008 ~
New Delhi: June 9, 2008: Pearl Academy of Fashion, India’s premier institute for fashion education presents Samanvaya – a 6- day exhibition of paintings, sculptures and prints by Fine Arts faculty of Pearl Academy of Fashion starting June 9th to 14th, 2008 from 10 am to 7 pm at Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Samanvaya, contemporary art and craft exhibition, features a unique group of artists from varying schools of aesthetics and artistic sensibilities. Participating artists like Anupam Mondol, Ambika Magotra, Deepak Khandelwal, Manas Barua, Manikant Choudhury, Prasanna Barua, Ritu Jain, K. Sasi Kumar, Usha Nehru Patel, Ujwal Bannerjee, Kunal Sinha& Cora Goeteman used different media like oil on canvas, acrylic & fibreglass, acrylic on canvas, mixed medium, sculpture etc. to portray their artistic thoughts and expressions.
Opening of the exhibition witnessed some of the well known people from art fraternity like, Mr. Rajiv Lochan Director National Gallery of Modern Art, Eminent Indian artist Mr. Gopi Gajwani and Manisha Parekh coming together and appreciating the works of the talented faculty members artists putting up their first show.
The growing acclaim & popularity of Indian art in recent years has made avid connoisseur of many. Samanvaya provided the platform to the fine arts faculty members of Pearl Academy of Fashion to expand and showcase their skills to the art & design fraternity. Fine arts faculty member and Artist K. Sasi Kumar, a native of Tamil Nadu and alumnus of Government college of arts & crafts , University of Madras, displayed his creativity using acrylic & fiberglass medium. On the other hand artist Manas Barua alumni of Rajasthan School of Arts, Jaipur, chose oil on canvas to express his artistic skills. The works of both artists was appreciated by the art fraternity.
Congratulating the participating artists Mr. A.K.G Nair Group Director Pearl Academy of Fashion said, “Congratulations to the fine arts faculty team for a successful showcase of their art works. Samanvaya is their first exhibition and I am sure it will provide an excellent opportunity for our faculty to present their works to the art & design fraternity”.
The exhibition is on till June 14, 2008 at Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre from 11a.m. till 7 p.m.
