I was always interested in doing something where I can express myself and have the freedom to do my job, as I like, timings and comfort hardly matters to me as long as I am getting satisfaction from my work.
As I started photography I felt the need to join some professional institute where I can learn the ins and outs of the trade besides gaining the technical knowledge, and that's why I joined pearl academy which I found quite competent to provide me that professional edge which I needed.
I also actively take part in different photography workshops organized from time to time

Some of the workshops I have attended are

1.19th all India IIPC workshop and conference held at Vishakhapatnam from 14th to 17th December 2001
2. Wildlife workshop organized by Banglore chapter at Kabni and Bandipur national park in April 2002
3. LIPC workshop on judging and fashion held at New Delhi in January 2002
4. Photography workshop on tabletop and portraits held on organized by Delhi chapter in June 2002
5. International conference on photography held at Delhi school of arts in December 2002

I am also an active member of following organizations
1. Photographic society of America (PSA)
2. Royal photographic society (UK)
3. Life member-India international photographic council (IIPC)

Awards and recognitions gained
1. won 1st prize in inter college photography competition organized by spic-macay in 2003

Against the blue
This shot was take by me on the day of janamashthmi-the day of birth of lord Krishna, which is celebrated in India where all the temples are lit up.
This is a shot of Birla Mandir-New Delhi taken by me in yr 2003.
I wanted to add something to the sky as that being a no moon day sky was supposed to be totally dark in the night, and a straight forward shot of the temple with dark sky would have lacked that extra punch needed to bring out the photograph
So, I reached there before dawn time and clicked this photograph just at the sunset time to get that rich blue of the sky and it has helped a lot in making this photograph something different

All bright and dandy
This shot was taken on the day of Gurpurub the holy day of the birth of Sikh Guru Govind Sikh in Bangla Sahib Gurudwara New Delhi.
As I was at the location and setting up my equipment, I felt the need to add some thing in the foreground of the temple to show the holiness of the festival.
So I went on the other side and included people lighting up the candles and the Gurdwara in the background adds to the feel of 5the photograph

Heaven on earth

This shot is one of the rare shot for which I had to put in lot of work physically
I took this shot when I was returning from my Ladakh trip.
The place is called Vishal Tal that is in Himachal Pradesh and is at6 a height of about 4800 meters above sea level.

When I was going to Ladakh and I saw this place I was sure that I could get some good shots here, but at that time it was late evening and I decided that I will click photographs here while returning.
When I was returning back from Ladakh I crossed Sarchu border the border between Himachal and j and k, at around 4 :30 and as the army people close all the barriers which are there in the region at around 5 I was sure that there is no chance that if I reach next barrier the army people will allow me to come back to Vishal Tal early morning.
So I decided to stay in between the barriers the whole night .it was 8 in the night and temperature had already dipped to 0 degree.
I was sure that this was going to be a long and freezing night. During the night I remain in my car with my engine and a/c switched on to get some heat as the temperature had dipped to -10 degree when I checked.
It was 5 in the morning and some light started coming I started setting up my equipment and after some time the light condition reached what I exactly wanted and I clicked this shot

Getting older
This is a shot of old fort in Delhi with some dark room work done on the print namely vignetting and toning
Looking at the original print I found that the print lacked the archive quality associated with the fort. So I decided to make another print from the negative with vigneeting done under the enlarger in the dark room
Again I found that the print lacks what the monument actually depicts. So decided to tone the print in sepia and the result is here
