Pearl Academy Hosts Portfolio 2018 In Its Campus In Noida
Noida, May 4, 2018: Celebrating 25 years of creative impact, Pearl Academy, India’s leading institution in design, fashion, business and media, today hosted Pearl Portfolio 2018. The event was held at the Noida campus and saw a large number of students showcasing their masterpieces. Eminent personalities such as Madhav Raman, co-founder of Anagram Architects; Mohor Roy, Director, brand ideation & content lead designer at Codesign and Sumit Dagar, Design thinker, entrepreneur and product design lead at 1mg were present, among others.
The one-day event included an exhibition of ingenious projects by students from School of Design and School of Business. Surbhi Singhal displayed a unique concept of human café, her aim is to design a place that would help people come together and share their stories like travel experiences, survivors, strugglers, writers, poets and people with life changing experiences. Adding to it was a project by Sukham Sond that reflected the revival of Sukhna lake in Chandigarh, with a world-class aquarium on the backdrop. Vidhushi, a student of Interior Architecture design (IAD) created a homogenous space, including an interesting mix of recreational activities undertaken in a smog free environment. To cater to the needs to elite segment of the society, Krishna Verma displayed jewelry boutique designed to give a luxurious and exquisite treatment for people who like to indulge in the opulent pieces of jewels and watches. Similarly, through ‘#Redefine’, a deaf awareness campaign by Akangksha Sarmah, a communication design student, she made active efforts to address and gain understanding of the Deaf culture.
In the wake of advanced technologies, design has emerged as a new-age career option for students in today’s world. It offers myriad learnings in creativity backed by great career growth. Pearl Academy has always been at the forefront, providing students with matchless national as well as international exposure thereby making them industry-ready.
The exhibitions were followed by a panel discussion - ‘Failing to succeed’ with Madhav Raman, Mohor Roy and Sumit Dagar, among others. The event ended with an award ceremony felicitating the works of the students. On May 4, different workshops were also organized for students.
