Prof. S. Badrinarayanan graduated in 1982 from School of Planning and Architecture (Delhi) with a B.Arch. With over three decades of experience in the industry, he has designed and executed several architectural projects, conservation projects, interiors, furniture, graphics, exhibitions, sets for stage and TV, products, etc. He has been involved with academics for 25 years and has a Post Graduate certificate in Higher Education from Nottingham Trent University (UK) and PhD in architectural education (SPA). He has taught as visiting faculty in many architecture colleges including TVB School of Habitat Studies, School of Planning and Architecture, University School of Architecture and Planning, I.P University, and has been part of many juries. He is a member of IIID (Indian Institute of Interior Designers), and INTBAU (International Network of Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism). Since joining the newly set up department of Interior Architecture at Pearl Academy as full-time professor in 2010, he has been actively coordinating, refining and updating the curriculum to ensure a holistic learning experience. In 2014, he re-designed an innovative curriculum for the BA Hons program, currently being followed at IAD. He has several national and international publications to his credit and likes to seek critical connections between Theory and Practice, Arts and Technology, Philosophy and the Everyday. Above all, he is passionately devoted to pursuing clarity for himself and others.
