A detail-oriented design professional and academician, Milly is a design educator and thinker with over a decade of experience teaching visual communication, graphic design and material studies at prestigious institutes around the country. She is passionate about typography, letter design and publication design and aims to instill visual judgement and skills in her students. In addition to being a design educator, she has designed a lot of collateral, including publications for the Uttarayan Art Foundation in Baroda. She has done freelance work for several companies in publication design, graphics and typography.
In 2003, she did her M.F.A in Visualization, from Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda, after a B.F.A in Applied Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, MS University, Baroda in 2001. Her experience includes working as Associate Professor from 2009 at the School of Communication, Media and Film, Pearl Academy, where she teaches a variety of subjects including Typography, Material Exploration, Branding and Corporate Communication, Designing for advertising, Illustration and Colour to students.
In 2003-2007, she was designer and curator at the Uttarayan Art Foundation in Baroda, where she primarily designed brochures, catalogues, invites and other publication material, although duties extended to coordinating with the art gallery associated with the foundation as well. In 2004-2010, she was Visiting Faculty at M.S University in Baroda, where in addition to teaching several subjects within the fields of visual communication, she conducted workshops with Masters students. She was also invited as an external examiner and jury member for the final portfolio review of students at the same university in 2013.
