Sandhya has been in the field of fashion design for the past 10 years and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry in India, such as Tarun Tahiliani, Raakesh Agarwal and Sandy Starkman. She has a lot of experience developing collections from scratch and doing the design analysis based on season trends. She is also keen on print media and developed 10 full ranges of digital print collections for the upscale Indian market. Her specialty is draping, perfect fits, interesting trims used in an innovative way, experimentation with new color co-ordinates, textile design developments and forecasts and development of designs from scratch.

She was also the runner-up in a 2002 reality show Fashion House, which was organized in collaboration with Donatella Versace along with two famous Indian designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The competitive show, which had 13 fashion designers locked in a Mumbai mansion for two months, was modeled on the lines of Project Runway.

She has taught extensively in South East Asia, including Beijing, Hanoi and Phnom Penh as a fashion design faculty, teaching taught various subjects ranging from draping, drafting, styling and sketching to costume history, and textiles.
