Ruchita Verma’s educational qualification includes a Masters degree in Business Administration, an additional Masters degree in Tourism Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Hotel Administration and Management. She has a diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from the famous ‘Dadar Catering College’ of Mumbai. Currently she is pursuing her Phd. in management and is researching a topic in Human Research Management.
Ruchita has 23 years of experience working in academics in various positions. She has had a humble beginning as a lecturer and worked her way up to a position of a Group Director having headed three hospitality schools and one fashion & design school for the ITM Group of Institutions with whom she has worked for the last 13 years.
As a Group Director her responsibilities in ITM included business development, coming up with tactical marketing initiatives; talent acquisition and retention; strategic alliance and networking, program/curriculum development, forming corporate policies and procedures, needs analysis & change management; corporate communication, program start-ups, community and media relations, international collaboration & validations. Prior to ITM, Ruchita worked with Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology for 10 years as a lecturer. Before that, she has had a brief stint with Pacchhi Hotels Pvt Ltd. as an Assistant Manager – Operations & Marketing.
When Ruchita took over the reins of ITM-Hospitality, it had a modest beginning with 18 enrollments only. At the time of leaving ITM the schools under her leadership boasted of over 1000 enrollments a year across campuses, some of the best international collaborations, lowest staff turnover and a 90 – 95% industry placement. She is committed to replicate similar success in her association with Pearl Academy.
