Creative industries such as publishing, film, television, radio and music, account for more than 7% of the world’s domestic product. Communication across these industries is changing rapidly because of technological innovations and a global idiom, combined with integration. Creating a personal and visual vocabulary through form, proportion, image and word has become an integral part of communication. The course equips students for content development in the above creative fields. Trained professionals have intellectual and practical ability, specialized knowledge and a holistic understanding of communication using diverse media.
In this Level, the student will acquire sensitivity and skills in design, aesthetics and visual message development in 2D, 3D and moving media formats; there will be thorough understanding of various communication media like print, web, animation, film, and spatial design. Grounded in communication theory, the student will study historical, social and cultural contexts of design with application situationally to problem solving.
Here, the student will advance and expand his knowledge base gained earlier, cognitively plan, evolve, plan and develop communication strategies to solve cpmplex communication problems with sufficient consideration to market influencers and audiences. It is also the time to be introduced to design practice as well as develop a focal area of interest through sequential projects. Industry internship provides necessary commercial exposure.
The student engages himself in self-study with turorial guidance. Occuring here is an opportunity to consolidate and implement creative, technical and industrial experience to contribute effectively to a career role. With an eye on a future career, the student compiles a portfolio, demonstrates a distinctive are of interest through research and design projects and develops a talent for design management.
The final exhibition of Communcation Design works as a much sought after event marked in the industry calendar. It is visited by well-known professionals from a spectrum of communications industry. Best works are awarded and students find a platform to interface with the best in the industry. Owing to a wide range of clientele engaged in supporting final projects, the exhibition draws wide ranging interests to revel in student creativity.
