People and businesses are not just judged by what they do, but more critically by how they come across to be perceived and values they represent. Successful people and brands need to depend on their ability to hit the right cord in their style, grooming, demeanour, conduct, alignment with right concerns and above all, the look, feel & appearance.
With extensive presence in media and public domain, all businesses, public figures and personalities have high visibility. They need to be very well ‘groomed and dressed’ to pass the dynamic scrutiny by the consumers, well wishers and followers to match up with expectations, benchmarks and perceived status. The grooming and dressing not only includes the persona in dress & look, but the entire image that constitutes a multi-layered depth of ones being in personal and public space.
Fashion styling, image styling, brand identity, style media editing, image promotion, media make up, hair styling, art direction & photography are some of the expertise coming together to create a unique niche of professionals required to address this challenging profession.
Pearl Academy of Fashion is launching a unique program in Fashion Styling & Image Design. A combination of grooming, fashion & media make-up, identity design, expression of image/themes/stories through space & products to create a designed experience and knowledge of media are integrated to address this niche profession.
The program has been designed to develop all round
capabilities & hone multi-layered competence for professional
practice. The program, through its five core areas covers:
1. Socio-cultural studies addresses fashion & design with focus
on beauty & adornment across cultures, contemporary
cultures & lifestyles, orientation to music & performing arts
and insights into cultural history.
2. Image, identity & persona includes deeper understanding
of phenomena of image & identity, body, mannerisms &
behaviour and trends & influences that form a part of larger
image & styling profession.
3. Tools, techniques & skills focus on developing hands on
knowledge of tools & techniques while developing
proficient skills in visualization & communication
techniques, techniques & tools of make up, photography,
hair styling computer & IT applications, research techniques & tools.
4. Media & communication is to develop insights into media
as a major proponent and platform for image & styling and
covers introduction to media & communication, structure &
operational dimensions of media, image, styling and
identity in media & communication and role & function of
advertising & promotion.
5. Concepts, methods & applications is the creative
dimension of the learning and designed as convergent
experience of one's knowledge, skills and creative flair. It is
structured to develop & refine aesthetic, conceptual and
applied dimensions of fashion, identity, image, styling and
spatial elements through experiential learning with business
sense.
It encompasses story/theme development & realization,
elements of design & fashion aesthetics, elements of visual
merchandizing, brand development & promotion, fashion
styling & image development, fashion marketing & business
development and professional practice.
