Pearl Academy X Junior Skills
We are proud to be the academic partner for Junior Skills - a special, first of its kind skills championship for students from standards 6th -12th organised by National Skill Development Corporation in partnership with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The championship is an incredible opportunity for students from standard VI to XII to explore and exhibit their passion for a particular skill and receive the appropriate technical and vocational education training (TVET) to harness this passion. Pearl Academy teachers will me mentoring students to help them upskill and win the championship.
Eligibility: Students from CBSE schools studying in standard VI to XII will be eligible to participate in the following categories of JuniorSkills.
Fashion Technology practitioner creates garments. The technical skills involved include design, pattern construction, draping, cutting, and garment manufacture and finishing. The design of a garment requires innovation, creativity, artistic talent, skills which incorporate aesthetics as well as functionality. The practitioner must apply the rules and theory of composition including design elements and principles as well as excellent construction technique. Fashion Technology could be for you if you like:

Painting and Decorating
The services of the painter and decorator are needed everywhere from homes to public buildings, factories, and offices. A Painter is responsible for internal and external surface appearance of a building. High level of technical expertise is required for smooth and levelled surfaces This requires to offer a range of services, from interpreting client requirements to the environmental and sustainability of materials/drawings, advising on designs/colours, painting, spraying, decorative coatings, wallpapering, gilding, and sign writing to a high standard. Work organization and self-management, communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, innovation. It is a creative job that requires a sense of design as well as the core skills of painting, decorative coatings, and gilding and management at site. Graphic Design uses a variety of platforms, software and mediums to create effective communication collaterals. Student who study graphic design are expected to understand the Fundamentals of Design along with basic colour theory, two dimensional and three dimensional perspectives, lines, textures, patterns, etc. It will require students to create deliverables using elements and principles of design and connecting the brief to the execution. If the student has additional abilities in photography, game design, 3D animation, motion graphics and other relevant digital skills, then they can advance to a professional level. However, having good products is only part of the key to a successful retail outlet, Drawing people in by using appeal is also important. The Visual Merchandiser creates a positive atmosphere for customers, creating a brand look that is creative, eye catching, and drives sales. They need to understand the target market for both products and outlets, have a good sense of design to implement a brief, and show careful attention to detail.
