Visual Influences in Luxury
This module will help the student in understanding the basics of color, balance, texture etc. The students will explore the luxury design fundamentals which will help them in understanding the design philosophy and symbolical language of various luxury brands.
Luxury Goods & Services I
This will acquaint the learners with the concept of Luxury and introduce them to luxury product categories of Apparel, Footwear, Handbags, Automobiles and Wine & Champagne.
Styling & Etiquette
This module will provide the learning group with inputs on grooming, professional and personal styling, photography, written and
verbal communication skills etc. The course would be facilitated using online blended approach.
Luxury & Culture I This module will help the student in understanding the evolution of art & fashion until 1950’s. They will also understand how cultural emergence and diversity impacts luxury brand’s design and design language. Various art movements like Dadaism, Cubism, Art Nouveau, Minimalism, Impressionism, Pop Art, Op Art etc will be covered in this module.
Luxury Goods & Services II This module will be extended to product categories like Jewelry, Hospitality and Spas, Watches, Yachts and Perfumery. Carrying forward from the last semester, this module will help the students in understanding the various features of luxury brands from the above mentioned varied fields. Students will also be introduced to and will analyze various luxury brands that have made a mark on global stage.
Luxury & Culture II
This will discuss fashion evolution from 1950’s onwards until the contemporary times. Changes in silhouette shapes and fashion understanding will help them in understanding how a luxury brand defines fads and trends. Students will also understand the role of designers, celebrities, political happenings, natural calamities in defining the fashion of those times. It is very important for a luxury brand to revive itself. The collection which did well decades back should be re-launched to revive the old times. This analysis will help them in conceptualizing both product and marketing strategy while learning Luxury Brand Management as a module.
Luxury Brand Management
This module will provide the students with insights on various management strategies followed by luxury brands globally. The module will help them in analyzing the age old strategies followed by luxury brands like Ferrari, Hermes, and Louis Vuitton. This module will summarize the students’ learning from last two semesters.
Students will be introduced to financial models and terms to help them in analyzing the financial status of a luxury brand. The course would be facilitated using blended learning approach.
After year 1, students undergo 8 week summer internship in industry.
