Pearl Academy’s Bridal and Wedding Wear Design Course is an intensive specialization for aspiring candidates in the bridal wear domain. Offered in association with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), this short-term course equips students with the skills, confidence, and methods necessary for a career in this highly evolving bridal and wedding wear industry in India and abroad. Students will learn to create traditional Indian bridal garments and explore contemporary bridal fashion trends. The program covers bridal wear production, the global influence of India's bridal fashion industry, and marketing and brand promotion strategies specific to bridal fashion. Overall, this course offers a comprehensive and hands-on approach to wedding dress making, covering everything from design concepts to final embellishments.
Participants will gain an understanding of the technology, design concepts, skills, and knowledge needed to create contemporary yet culturally rooted bridal and wedding wear. They will learn to create innovative designs, solve industry challenges, and generate fresh ideas — all while considering the commercial viability and social implications of their decision-making process. This prepares them for diverse roles such as bridal wear designers, consultants, trend forecasters, and more. Participants will be well-prepared to pursue opportunities in the wedding wear industry or embark on their entrepreneurial journey by starting their fashion labels.
The program is offered in 3 blocks of 13 weeks each, covering a range of skills in Bridal and Wedding Wear Design moving from basic to advanced level. During the program students develops the strong foundation about the evolution of Indian bridal fashion and its cultural importance, including an understanding of the diversity of bridal wear across various regions.
Explore drawing and digital tools for sketching, integrate textures, colours, and patterns, and develop technical drawings suitable for production and presentation purposes.
Applicants seeking admission to the Bridal and Wedding Wear Design Course must be a minimum of 17 years old and have successfully completed Class X from any recognized educational board.
