Deepak Seth

Group Chairman – Pearl Global Industries PDS Multinational Ltd.

Deepak Seth – Group Chairman – started the “House of Pearl” in 1987 with just one manufacturing unit in India. Today, his vision and enterprise have transformed the company into a global conglomerate with an annual business volume of more than 5600 million. This efficient Ready-To-Wear supply chain that's involved in manufacturing, distribution, branding, and retailing caters to the best retailers in the world.

He's a visionary in the field of readymade garments who's identified the potential of the Far East region as a major supplier to the international garment industry. Keeping this in mind, he set up the House of Pearl as a global outfit.

An Economics graduate from St. Stephens College, Delhi University, Deepak holds an MBA from Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Bombay. He is an active member of the Apparel Export Promotion Council of India and held the post of “Vice Chairman” of the Eastern Region of AEPC for two years. An executive member of the Apparel Exporters and Manufacturers Association (AEMA), he was awarded the “Udyog Ratna” Award by the Haryana Government in 2006 for his entrepreneurial skills.

Deepak’s vision prepared the group to face the post-quota regime from 2005, setting up manufacturing units across the Far East to transform the House of Pearl into a one-stop shop for its valued customers.

Deepak is a pioneer in the field of social responsibility and firmly believes in giving back to society. He runs various charitable organisations such as the Meena Seth Clinic, which provides free medical aid to the needy, and Arpan, which gives free tuition to underprivileged children between the age group of seven to twelve years in English, Mathematics, and Science.

Sharad Mehra

President, Creative Arts Education Society and Head, Executive Leadership

Sharad Mehra is President, Creative Arts Education Society and heads Executive Leadership team at Pearl Academy - India’s largest private institution for design, fashion, business and media. He has an extensive industry experience of almost two decades in the apparel, garments and fashion domains. As the President, Sharad is in charge to spearhead the overall academic operations and growth of the institution. His expertise ranges from product launches, product and market development, set-up and management of business operations, strategic alliances, revenue and profit generation, business expansion and growth.

Prior to Pearl Academy, Sharad was associated with well-known industry names such as Technopak Advisors (P) Ltd., Arvind Limited, among others. Associated with Arvind Limited for seven years, Sharad played a significant role as the Chief Operating Officer for the organization’s Knits Garment Business Division.

His years of executive experience in the fashion and apparel industry were critical in developing the leadership and management skills that helped him venture into the field of higher education. These experiences allowed him to formulate an out of the box solution mentality and drive large-scale change management.

An MBA in International Business (Faculty of Management Studies, BHU), Sharad was conferred with "Young Achiever Award for Professional Excellence" by Banaras Hindu University for his contribution to the apparel and education domains.

Sharad is a certified Professional Executive Leadership Coach, has attended various focus group seminars and addressed several conferences and workshops as a Speaker / Panel Expert. An avid reader with a personal collection of over 1000 books, he has authored several published articles. Besides a keen interest in sports and writing, Sharad also enjoys cooking.
