Overview
The B.Des in Product Design is ‘project driven’ and follows a ‘hands-on’ approach that equips aspiring designers with a versatile skill set, encompassing design thinking, product innovation and design management driven by adopting cutting-edge technology. The program aims to create promising and passion-driven product designers who will be job creators in the emerging decentralized modes of mass customization of products, services and systems. Emphasizing sustainability and a global perspective, it readies graduates for the interconnected and ever-evolving IT-driven, product and service industry.
Through robust collaborations with the manufacturing and service sector, and global academia, the program ensures students are well-versed in meeting expectations of current industry trends. Furthermore, under School for Life, we foster crucial 21st-century skills such as emotional intelligence, critical thinking and financial literacy, positioning our students for success in an ever-evolving and volatile world.
Program Curriculum
Pearl’s Academy B. Des. in Product Design program equips students with skills and knowledge essential to succeeding in the dynamic and competitive fields of fashion, lifestyle, retail and more.
The Learning Mode
The B. Des. in Product Design program at Pearl is a full-time course. The curriculum is a mixture of in-person and online sessions. The in-person classes allow maximum engagement, especially given the hands-on nature of the program through our infrastructure, and collaboration with Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) facility and Collab Therapy. The online learning often supplements their learning away from campus.

If you meet the following eligibility criteria, you can apply to our B. Des. in Product Design Program:
Candidates must have completed their 10+2 years of schooling.
They must appear for Pearl Academy’s Design Aptitude Test (DAT) and General Proficiency Test (GPT) as part of the admission process. This is followed by a personal interview round.
Applicants are also required to submit a portfolio of their creative work showcasing their skills and abilities in design, drawing and other related areas.
