Overview
One of Pearl Academy's most popular programs is the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) in Communication Design. This program offers four specialisations: Graphic Design, Animation & VFX, UI/UX Design, and Game Design.
As part of the Design Faculty, this program aims to provide students with a strong foundation in design basics as well as practical skills specific to each specialisation.
In addition to covering design fundamentals, the program also teaches skills and principles that are highly valued in today's digital workforce.
Program Curriculum
The Bachelor of Design in Communication Design program enables students to explore graphics, typography, and interaction design. Graduates find employment opportunities in fields like information design, branding, editorial design, motion graphics, type design, advertising, and web/mobile app design.
During the program, students master the art of creating and conveying compelling messages from start to finish, while also studying the socio-cultural aspects of communication.

Specialisation
From learning about people, identity, culture and narratives in the first year, students move on to learning elements of design, image making, digital tools, brand identity, composition, signs and symbols and many other graphic design topics. By the third year, students start taking on projects on larger topics covering cultural design, research and system design coupled with industrial experiences. They also get their hands dirty with emerging technologies, learn about project ethics and take up their major project of the curriculum.
Students of Graphic design explore all kinds of inspiration to develop creative designs that can showcase their skills, creativity and result in a robust portfolio of creative work that places them in good stead. Throughout the duration of the program, students study history and theory of Play, Gaming, 2D and 3D graphics, simulation and modelling, user interface design, storytelling, and narrative architecture.
