Who will be our chief competitors?
In Mumbai, mainly Whistling Woods, the FTII Pune has acting classes in their integrated course. Ramesh Sippy’s academy also has acting as a part of its course, so have Barry John, Anupam Kher, Kishore Namit Kapoor and many other acting institutes in Mumbai. In Delhi, the NSD and Marwah Studios. No one, as far as I know in Bengaluru or Jaipur.
The Dean of SOCM has groomed, launched, mentored very successful actors like Raveena Tandon, Shah Rukh Khan and others.
- This course is not just about teaching them acting/ performing/dance. But how to translate their talent into actual paying work on stage, or in front of the camera. This is unique and no other acting course in the country does this.
- All major actors/ stars/ casting directors/ directors/ producers, writers will come and do indepth master classes at token fees. These will be recorded and form an archive of wisdom from giants that no other acting course in the country will have.
- This will give fillip to the SOCM and establish a separate and strong identity which is much-needed.
- All graduates will get a personal letter from Viveck Vaswani endorsing the students’ ability, and a direct access to industry. Even during the course there will be field trips to actual film/ web/ tv/ adfilm/ music video shoots.
