Mr. Tang is an award-winning designer, his work had won Good Design Awards, IDEA, “Core World” Charity Innovation Award, Gov. 2.0 Innovation Award, CES Best Innovation Award and so on. One of his design pieces, the Scent Dome design, which brought the third sense - smell to the internet, was reported by Time magazine, CNN, BBC, ABC Good Morning America program, Popular Science, and many other media and press. His design work has been permanently collected by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Mr. Tang used to be the CCO Cheif Creative Officer of iHealth, and Principle UX Designer of Coupang, a NYSE public traded company.
Mr. Tang is a serial entrepreneur. He was the founder of Nearal, an AI-enhanced location-based professional networking app service; and Peopeo, a people-centered design consultancy firm in Beijing; cofounder of Trisenx, which enabled people to send smell over the internet; cofounder of Gopackup, a travel booking site which connects travelers with locals from over 2000 cities and 136 countries; cofounder of Qifang, a P2P micro-finance web service, which helps the poor students to pay off their tuition. He is also the founder of MicAid Foundation, which a non-profit organization in California, committed to preserve and redesign local Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Mr. Tang is also a global design educator, he was the founder and director of the Transportation Design program in CAFA Central Academy of Fine Arts, the best art and design institution in China. He also used to teach interaction design courses at SJSU San Jose State University, one of the leading universities in the heart of the Silicon Valley in California, USA.
Mr. Tang holds a terminal degree in product design and was the Executive Director of IDF (International Design Federation) Great China District and Beijing Chapter Leader of IxDA (Interaction Design Association).
