Abhishek Marshal Lewis has joined us as the Department Lead in our Fashion Communication department. He believes that as the world embraces digitization and new technologies, the traditional boundaries between academia and industry are being redefined. This evolving collaboration between industry and academia is transforming the educational landscape, providing students with valuable opportunities to engage with industry experts on real-world projects.
Abhishek has been captivated by design and fashion since childhood. His curiosity and passion led him to prepare for design colleges, culminating in a Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design) and a Master of Design (Design Research) from NIFT, New Delhi. He is currently pursuing his PhD. During his studies, Abhishek was honoured with the Best Designer Award by the Government of India, Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI). He also participated in prominent events such as the World of Wearable Art (WOW), the Zoom TV Designer Reality Show, and many more.
Despite his achievements in fashion, Abhishek sought to broaden his expertise in retail design and fashion communication, encompassing space design, visual merchandising, communication, and marketing. With over 15 years of experience in the retail sector in India and abroad, he has established himself as a seasoned professional. As a Visual Merchandising and Marketing Head, he has been associated with renowned organizations such as Landmark Group, ITC, Crocs, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, Future Group, and United Colors of Benetton.
His passion for teaching and training led him to complete the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) at IIM Indore. In the past, he has also been associated with esteemed institutions such as NIFT, the Army Institute of Design, Chitkara University, and several others.
