Our 2 Year PG Pathway in Journalism & Mass Communication offers a cutting-edge, modern curriculum for new-age digital learner. It is a unique & new course developed to train media professionals, journalists with an international perspective.

The course is particularly directed to applicants who aspire to be global learners and have an international perspective on social, economic and political issues. It is a postgraduate academic study mode with a lot of studio time and practice-based classes along with relevant theory. This will be supported with international exposure through overseas exchange credited in the curriculum.

A basic course in Foundation design will induct students to the world of design. Students will initiate the understanding of media with traditional print media and different forms of writing for it. They will be exposed to the principles & practices of public relations, advertising principles and strategies with emphasis on Account planning, PR writing & media relations.

Digital Media & Technology will initiate them into broadcast and digital journalism. Students will explore the principles, mechanics, techniques, tools, processes, and aesthetics of television production and online presence. The technical studies will introduce students to the technical and operational basics of audio, video, and multimedia production.

In the beginning of the course, the learning concentrates on the basic understanding and skills significant to the chosen discipline/specialism. After that the students take their previous learning to a higher, complex and sophisticated stage of understanding and engage in application through live projects, often sponsored by industry, and, therefore, coming to terms with reality of the world in the learning space. The students get chance to apply learning in real industry set. The level’s approach will be blended learning & teaching. At the final stage the student engages in Final Project. This stage provides for maximum opportunity to brainstorm and learn about issues beyond the specialization stream through workshops at the academy and apply the learnings onto the Final Project.

International Exposure

On successful completion of this two year PG pathway, a student is awarded with Post Graduate Diploma validated by Domus Academy, Milan. The curriculum of this course is also developed in association with Domus Academy.

All PG Pathways at Pearl have an in-built 4-week exchange module (optional) at Domus Academy, Milan. This alliance gives them the following opportunities:-

1. Get a global experience and learn latest international trends.

2. Attend workshops, visit local factories/manufacturing units and interact with the industry experts of international market.

3. Domus Academy faculty members regularly visit Pearl Academy to to instill fresh learning in the students. Apart from international expertise, these experts bring immense cultural knowledge with them.

Through such exchanges programmes, Pearl ensures that the students learn not only the technical aspects of the domain but also a new culture. In 2016, over 80 students were a part of the exchange program to Domus Academy, Milan, Italy. These students were from all 3 centers and across various PG courses like Fashion Business, Fashion Design, Interior Design & Styling, Luxury Brands, Fashion Communication, Communication Design and Fashion Styling & Image Design.


Other International Opportunities
